Welcome to The Rant

Salutations to all!

Welcome to The Rant!
I suppose I'd better use this first post to let everyone know what this is all about.
(*Thinking...*)
On second thought, it's actually quite difficult to give a concise description of this blog. It really will be about anything that pops into my mind or that I find very interesting, and that I feel the need to weigh in on. That could be news, school, philosophy, or even (occasionally) music.

The best way to give a little insight into the future of this blog is to give a little insight into the writer. Since my interests will eventually fuel the posts, I'll focus on those.
To start with, I love science. I hope to be a physicist some day, so expect to see lots of posts about the past, present and future of the science world. Secondly, I am agnostic. Yes, there will be posts on religion and on religions, as a whole and individually respectively, but only in terms of critical analyses and rational examination. I hear your groans, and that's OK. That may not be your kind of post. Just come back later if it isn't. I promise to make them interesting, though, and I'm sure if you read them with an open mind they won't be TOO miserable. Moving along, we get to the wonderful cello, which I've been playing for some years in the local national orchestra, so maybe you'll see something about that. I'm also a student, preparing for CAPE exams (Google it if you happen to live outside the Caribbean). This means I may rave a little about the stresses of studies, and also that for the next couple of months I won't be able to post as often as I'd like. Such is the nature of life, I suppose.

I can't really think of anything else that's relevant, except maybe that (obviously) I "rant" (note that "rant" here is actually representative of the process of exposition, often extended or detailed, not actually mindless chatter). The main reason I made this blog in the first place was that my rants tended eat up the 420 character limit on Facebook, and I find the notion of keeping what interests me bottled up a little unappealing.

Well, I think this about covers it, for now. I know I left stuff out, but only because there's simply no way to touch on everything. Now I only hope you like what you read. If you do, comment and let me know. If you don't, do the same. All feedback is appreciated, negative and positive. I've claimed enough of your time for now, so here I shall stop. Happy reading, and keep thinking critically.

  2. God, this is such a "MY FIRST BLOG" post, it's almost adorable. I had posts like this back when I was eleven. But hey, I'm just having a go, welcome to the blogosphere, my friend!

I'll follow you. If you wanna follow me, note that I have a million blogs and most of them are entirely works of fiction, so I'll direct you to my proper one: http://djayprog.blogspot.com/

Finally, since I don't actually know if you'd recognize me from "DJay32," alone, I'll go outright and say I'm Jordan. Again, welcome to the blogosphere. That's actually a word; that is so rad.

  3. LOL I guessed who this was when I saw a comment appear around the same time a UK stat appeared. And yes, it was very much intended to be a "MY FIRST BLOG" post. It's my first blog.

Interestingly enough, the most recent post on the blog you linked is tangentially related to a post I had just begun to type o_o. Anyway, I've followed the page and I'll be sure to stay tuned. Thanks for the welcome, and I'll do my best to do the blogosphere proud (interesting how the internet as a whole accepts the existence of the word, but this blog's spell-check does not...).
